THE SUPRA, translated “tablecloth,” is a traditional Georgian feast combining all the essential components of Georgian culture: delicious food, inspiring toasts, evocative wine, soulful singing, and exceptional hospitality. Guests will gather around communal tables where we will present a series of scrumptious dishes prepared by CHEF DAVID JOHNSON that merge Georgian traditional recipes with California's seasonal abundance. Dishes will be paired with natural wines selected by the sommeliers of oOakland's PUNCHDOWN. Throughout the family-style feasting, KITKA Women's Vocal Ensemble and Georgian song master KETEVAN MINDORASHVILI will present traditional polyphonic songs from Georgia and beyond. Sprinkled with ritual toasting and poetry throughout, our guests should expect an uplifting, one-of-a-kind musical-culinary experience.
